Koenigsegg adalah perusahaan mobil ternama yang didirikan oleh Christian Von Koenigsegg di Swedia pada 1993. Mungkin anda tak terbiasa mendengar dan menyebut namanya. Kira-kira penyebutannya adalah kounigzég. Perusahaan ini berkonsentrasi pada pembuatan sportscar. Produk-produk yang telah diluncurkan Koenigsegg sebelumnya adalah CC, CCX, CCR, CC8S, dan baru-baru ini Agera. Yang istimewa dari Koenigsegg Agera adalah mobil ini dinobatkan sebagai mobil tercepat di dunia. Mengalahkan Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.

Koenigsegg Agera menggunakan serat karbon sebagai bahan utama badannya. Alasannya agar mobil tersebut berbobot ringan, tetapi tetap kuat. Rangka Agera juga menggunakan serat karbon, tetapi sedikit aluminium juga ditambahkan. Agera termasuk sportscar dengan penempatan mesin mid-engined, atau berada di antara poros depan dan poros belakang. Desain tersebut dimaksudkan agar bobot mesin tersebar rata.

Agera juga memiliki fitur-fitur kenyaman dan keamanan yang lengkap. Contohnya dual airbag, ABS braking system, power steering, kamera parkir, koneksi USB, dan masih banyak lagi. Dengan spesifikasi mentereng serta fitur-fitur tambahan yang lengkap, wajar saja jika harga yang dipatok oleh Koenigsegg sangat tinggi. Untuk memiliki satu unit Agera R, anda harus merogoh kocek sebesar US$1,52 juta atau sekitar Rp18,06 miliar. Tak heran mobil ini masuk dalam daftar mobil-mobil termahal di dunia.
